The National Monuments Service's description

Listed as ‘Grave-slab’ in the SMR (1987) and as ‘Architectural fragment’ in the RMP (1996). Described by Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 324) as, 'In the church yard there is a piece of a floor-slab with the following inscription in raised Roman capitals:....PATRICII PVRCELL DE LISMEANE......, and the initials "K.P.," and "T.P.". Patrick Purcell of Lismain was pardoned in 1571'. Cockerham and Harris (2001, 187) suggest a date of c. 1600 for this slab based on Carrigan's reference. This fragment was not located when the graveyard was inspected in 1994.
