The National Monuments Service's description

In a marshy field on the edge of wetlands to the W. Excavated in 2006 in advance of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel Road Improvement Scheme (Excavation licence no. E2389). A mound (13.5m N-S; 19m E-W; D 0.46m) composed of black sandy silt with broken angular burnt stone that extends E beyond the limits of the excavation. A suboval pit (2.35m N-S; 1.81m E-W; D 0.14m) with vertical sides and a flat base lay c. 2m N of the edge of the mound. Two post-holes were found within the base. The mound was truncated E-W by a modern field drain. A sample from the burnt mound returned a radiocarbon date of 1610-1410 cal BC (Poz-26537) while a sample from the pit returned a date of 1060-840 cal BC (Poz-26538). (Hardy 2009, 267-8, no. 1042; Hardy and Green 2009)
