On fairly level ground at the foot of a range of low hills, at the rear of modern farm buildings, in good pasture. According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 299) Donaghmore was, 'a distinct parish down to the Reformation, when it was united to Fertagh. It was appropriated to Fertagh Priory at an early date. The parish church, dedicated to St. Patrick, was called in Irish Teampall Domhnaigh Mhóir'. The church (KK008-115001-) is located in the N sector of this irregularly shaped graveyard. The graveyard (dims. 95m NW-SE, 70m N-S) is enclosed by a modern stone wall, built on top of the remains of an earlier enclosure (KK008-115004-), defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4m; ext. H 2m). This bank is best preserved in the SE sector. The interior is rough, and overgrown and visibly slopes up from the SE to NW. Most of the gravestones are in the S-SW part of the interior. The earliest funerary monument bares the date 1720. Moore (1874-9, vol. 1, 36-7) noted, 'fragments of a medieval monument with curious ornamentation incised on them', which may relate to a medieval graveslab (KK008-115003-).
