The National Monuments Service's description
On a small natural knoll rising a little above the valley floor, c. 150m NE of a river which flows into the River Goul, in undulating terrain. There are good views from this location. Glashare Castle is located c. 100m to the SSE and there is an enclosure (KK008-024----) 200m to the NNW. An oval/sub-rectangular area (int. dims. 40m N-S; 32m E-W) with fairly straight sides and rounded angles. It is enclosed by an inner bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H c. 2m); wide external fosse (Wth 4m; D 1m) and smaller outer bank (Wth c. 2m; ext. H c. 1.1m). There is a possible entrance (Wth c. 2m) in the SW sector and a causeway (Wth c. 3m) across the fosse in the E quadrant. There has been quarrying in the SE quadrant of the interior.
