The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered in Derryville bog in 2006 during a fieldwalking survey of the Bord na Móna industrial peatlands in the Littleton group of bogs (Licence nos. 06E0696-06E0706). A longitudinal oak plank (Wth 0.37m; D 0.05m) and roundwood (diam. 0.1m) orientated NW-SE visible in the drain face 0.46m below the surface. The elements were parallel to each other and 0.4m apart. The wood was dried out where it was exposed but was otherwise moderately preserved. (Whitaker 2007, Catalogue no. KKDVE008)
