The National Monuments Service's description
According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 105), 'Cushlawn O’Meeachawn or the castle of the O’Meehans, stood on Ballinalacken hill, to the east of Cromwell’s road. Only a heap of stones marks the site. The place is believed to be a favourite resort of the “good people.” That it is wild, desolate and fiercely wind-swept there can be no question’. The precise location of this castle is unknown.
