The National Monuments Service's description

On an E-facing slope just below the crest of a hill, in upland terrain, under pasture. There is a fair view to the N and extensive to the E and S but it it impeded by the hill crest to the W. Listed as a fulacht fia by Prendergast (1977, 1 (4), 267). A roughly horse-shoe shaped mound, though the W end is formed by the slope of the hill. The mound material of the fulacht is mainly to the N (dims. 8m x 12m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.3m) and S (dims. 12m x 12m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.5m) of the trough (dims. 3m x 4m), though it does spread across the downslope on the E side where both mounds meet. Mound material composed of darker soil than in surrounding field and fire-cracked stones, though there is no charcoal evident in small under-sod area that was examined. There was probably a spring here, now dried up, with an old water channel running eastward downslope from the fulacht.
