The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture, on the lower W-facing slopes of Knockastumpa. The remains of a circular hut site (6m E-W; 5.8m N-S) defined by a grass-covered bank (Wth 0.85m; H 0.15m) of earth and stone SE-SW and by intermittent remnants of a stone wall SW-SE. The S portion of the interior is raised (H 0.6m) and the NE portion is cut into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. The interior is level. There is another hut site (KE109-014002-) c. 50m to the WSW. Relict field boundaries (KE109-014012-) are in the immediate vicinity to the N of the hut site.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
