In pasture, on a hillock, on the lower NW-facing slopes of Cummeenbaun Mountain. An elevated circular area (28m N-S; 27.2m E-W) defined by a low earthen bank (Wth 5.65m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 3.55m) W-N and by a scarp (Wth 4.75m; H 3.35m) N-W. There is an intervening fosse (Wth 2.75m; D 0.4m) SW-NNE and an outer bank (Wth 2.6m; H 0.85m) W-NNE. The interior is uneven and partly obscured by trees and bushes. A wire fence (on an ENE-WSW axis) crosses the S sector.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
