The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture, on a N-facing slope overlooking Ardgroom Harbour to the SW. This burial ground comprises a roughly triangular-shaped field (L c. 40m N-S; Wth c. 25m), narrowing towards the N, which has an uneven surface and is partly covered with ferns. No grave-markers or grave mounds were noted, apart from a flat embedded stone towards the centre of the burial ground. This burial ground is known locally as a 'cillíneach'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
