The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diam. 19.2m N-S, 22.5m E-W
This ruined circular caher is located on gently sloping pasture W of Staigue river, overlooking Kenmare Bay to S. It is marked 'Killeen Burial Ground' (KE107-002002-) on both editions of the OS maps. A field wall runs NNW-SSE through the centre of the site, and its S half lies buried beneath field clearance material. The enclosing wall can be traced along the N sector, where it survives only one to two courses high and measures 2.7m wide. It is faced internally and externally by large coursed slabs and appears to have a rubble core. No surface features were identified in the interior of the site.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 606. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
