The National Monuments Service's description
Tallough Fort/Cabhlach: The circular enclosure marked at this location on the first edition of the OS map has been largely levelled. It survives as a fairly level area, 15m x 12m, on the N side of which are vague traces of a stony bank. It is located NW of Sheehan's Point.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 658. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
