The National Monuments Service's description
O'Kelly (1973, 3) recorded that iron-working waste was found on the surface of the Lower Monks' Garden [KE104A001102-] in the 1960s. This clearly relates to 19th century workings by the lighthouse builders (pers. comm. G. Rourke) (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 286, no. 948, (20))
