For descriptive account see O'Sullivan and Sheehan (1996, 278-90, no. 948 (11)). In 2001 limited archaeological excavation of the leacht, which is traditionally known as the 'Monks' Graveyard', involved the removal of a 19th-century and later drystone revetment (Bourke 2003, 170). This work revealed that the Monks' Graveyard consisted of two conjoined leachta. This, the northernmost leacht, was revetted with stones set on edge (ibid.).
