The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on the N-facing slopes of Knockeirka. An oval area (10m E-W; 8.2m N-S) defined by a partially collapsed wall (T 0.8m; H 1.3m) of stone and clay E-NW and by a grass-covered stony scarp (H 0.4m) NW-E. An entrance (Wth 0.7m) at E is defined by two upright stones. There is another break at SE. The N portion of the level interior is raised (H 0.4m) and the S portion is cut slightly into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
