The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on a rocky W-facing slope, overlooking Lough Inchiquin. A sod-covered horseshoe-shaped mound (7.6m NE-SW; 6.7m NW-SE; H 0.8m) of burnt material with the opening facing SW. The E half of the mound was disturbed during drainage works. A possible fulacht fia (KE101-109001-) lies immediately to the NE and there is a burnt spread (KE101-109008-) immediately to the NW on the opposite side of a stream.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
