The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture and cutaway bog, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. Meandering sections of collapsed drystone walls (T 0.5-0.8m; H 0.8m) protrude intermittently above the bog surface in an area measuring c. 300m E-W x c. 170m N-S. Irregular-shaped enclosed areas can be traced throughout the system.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
