The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on an E-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. A roughly horseshoe-shaped mound (12.2m NW-SE; 8m NE-SW; H 0.6m) of burnt material with the opening (Wth 2m) facing SW. A slight indentation of the mound and some surface disturbance were noted at NE. A shallow depression extends SW from the opening to the nearby river.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
