The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on the spine of a ridge on a hilltop commanding extensive views in all directions. An oval cairn (18.5m N-S; 12m E-W; H 4.5m) straddles an E-W outcropping rock and stones from it have tumbled downslope on both the N and S sides. Short sections of stone slabs, set contiguously on the N side, possibly outline the original extent of the cairn. Stones from the cairn have been used to construct two smaller modern cairns (H 1.8m) on top of the outcropping rock.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
