The National Monuments Service's description
This monument, not marked on the OS maps, is located on a low rise close to the NW shore of Lough Currane. An unusually large field wall abuts it at E. The site comprises a group of nine stones, which variously occur upright, on edge and prostrate. At its N end is a triangular arrangement of three stones which stand 1.1m high on average and measure .75m x .35m at base. S of this are two parallel stones, set on edge 1.3m apart; these are .85m and .5m high. Further S is the largest stone of the group, 1.55m high, with basal measurements of 1.2m x .6m; it inclines against a small stone. Immediately at W is a prostrate slab. W of the group is another prostrate slab. At E, close to the field wall, is an upright stone .8m x .38m x .35m.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 258. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
