The National Monuments Service's description

Barrington noted an 'overthrown dolmen, savagely mutilated' in this townland, surrounded by a number of circles of large stones (1976, 284). Herity also recorded a possible megalithic tomb here (1970, 8), but the site could not be identified.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 95. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
