The National Monuments Service's description

Calluragh Burial Ground: This unenclosed rectangular burial ground is located on the S side of Glenmore valley, overlooking Isknagahiny Lough to N. It measures 12m N-S x 15m E-W and consists of a dense stony spread which is delimited at N by a series of boulders that may represent field clearance. A number of holly trees border the site elsewhere. Much quartz and numerous uninscribed upright slabs, averaging .35m high and .25m wide, occur on the site and probably relate to its use as a ceallúnach. It was formerly 'frequented for devotions on Good Friday' (OSNB Kilcrohane, 1).
Centrally located within the site is a cross-inscribed slab, 1.58m high. Of fairly regular elevation, it features a pointed top and measures .24m x .09m at base. Its W face bears a neatly executed Latin cross, with square terminals, which rises from a triangular base. A small square marks the convergence of the arms and shaft. An equal-armed linear cross, .7m high, is inscribed on the slab's opposite face.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 949. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
