The National Monuments Service's description
A possible clochan, described by Lynch (1902, 321) as 'a square clochan, or guard-house' within 'the remains of a stone vallum [possible cashel KE097-013----]', was 'still to be seen' in the early 1900s. Its precise location is not known.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
