The National Monuments Service's description

In rough boggy pasture, on a SW-sloping ridge at the head of a valley to the NW of Carran in the Shehy Mountains. A wedge-shaped chamber (L 2.35m; Wth 1.6m at the WNW end) aligned WNW-ESE. Two sidestones make up the N and S sides of the tomb, though a gap between the stones on the S side suggests there was a third stone, now missing. A single septal-stone closes the WNW end of the chamber and a backstone is visible at the ESE end. Projecting sidestones, as well as fallen stones outside the WNW end, suggest a short portico. The large roofstone (2.35m x 2.1m; T 0.27m) rests on each of the sidestones. Single orthostats on the N and S sides of the tomb probably represent an outer wall.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
