The National Monuments Service's description

In Kilgarvan village, in a graveyard (KE094-004003-). The ruins of a cruciform church (long axis N-S) built of random rubble sandstone with shaped quoins; patches of render are visible on the interior and exterior faces of the walls. The E wall of the short chancel, the E transept and the N part of the E wall of the nave no longer survive. The nave (int. c. 25m N-S; 6.4m E-W) was lit by four large pointed opes, now blocked, in the W wall. A door ope at the centre of the S wall of the nave is partially masked by the insertion of an external statue niche. The W transept (int. 6.3m N-S; 4.6m E-W) has a large blocked window ope in its W wall. A blocked rectangular ope in the S wall may have been a door. The remains of an overgrown shallow chancel at N with a narrow light in the W wall. A crossing wall (T 0.6m; L 6.4m; long axis E-W) inserted near the N end of the nave cuts off the transept and chancel from the nave. The 1895 OS 6-inch map indicates that the chancel and transepts were roofless by this time. The ruins of a medieval church (KE094-004001-) are to the E.
