The National Monuments Service's description
On a N-facing slope. A five-storey, gable-ended mill constructed of random rubble sandstone with roughly dressed sandstone and limestone quoins. Front and rear façades of eight bays; brick-dressed, camber-headed window and door opes; cast-iron window frames; cement sills although those on top floor appear to be of stone. Side elevations of two bays with lunette window in each gable. More recent one-storey turbine house adjacent to NW. According to local information, the mill was originally built as a corn mill but was converted to a woollen mill in 1921-23. It burnt down in 1961 but wool continued to be milled in an adjacent shed. It has since been repaired; the woollen mill machinery has been buried in a nearby orchard.
