On street corner at S side of The Square, Kenmare. A long, L-shaped building of two storeys constructed of ashlar. Front elevation (NE) faces on to The Square and is of three bays; at ground level is an arcade of three cut-stone arches which originally led to an open area but which has now been closed off with access via a doorway inserted in the left arch. There are two roughly square window opes on the first floor flanking a central clock. The roof of this front part of the building is hipped with a deep projecting cornice. The long side elevation (NW) facing onto Pound Street is of ten bays. The first bay on left forms part of front section of building and has a slightly higher roofline than the rest of the elevation; on ground floor it has a single round-headed window within an arched recess; on the first floor is a roughly square window matching those of the front elevation. The rest of this side elevation is gable-ended and has nine arched opes on the ground floor, six containing windows and three containing doorways. On the upper floor are four roughly square window opes. A broad string-course extends around the two visible elevations, separating the ground floor from the first floor. Of late 18th-/early 19th-century date. Now in mixed use.
