The National Monuments Service's description

In level pasture, on the valley floor on the N side of the Roughty River. This possible rath is not visible at ground level, apart from a shallow depression (L c. 35m) NW-NE which may indicate the line of a fosse. It is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on the 1895 OS 6-inch map. According to local information, it was levelled when the surrounding field boundaries were removed.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
