The National Monuments Service's description
This monument was initially identified as rock art by Aoibheann Lambe in 2014. In rough pasture (154m OD), on the NW side of a low hillock, on level area of ground of an otherwise S-facing slope, on SE spur of Mullaghanattin mountain range. Overlooking the Blackwater river valley S->W. This rock art stone forms the W end of a low, linear earth and stone field boundary (L 11m; long-axis WNW-ESE). A slightly rough and fractured boulder (dims. 1.54m N-S; 1.91m N-S; max. H 0.59m at N) with a rectangular decorated surface upon the upper portion of the W-facing aspect. A cup-and-ring motif (overall diam. 18cm; ring Wth 2.5cm; D 15cm; cup diam. 6cm; D 5mm) is clearly very visible at highest part of stone surface, to E side of decorated surface. Three cupmarks (diam. 4cm; D 5mm; diam. 5cm; D 5mm; diam. 4cm; D 3mm) are close to W. A possible cupmark (diam. 4cm; D 4mm) is located centrally and a second potential cupmark (diam. 4cm; D 4mm) is situated at edge of moss covered area, to S. Kerb circle (KE091-015001-), standing stone (KE091-015002-) and stone row (KE091-015003-) are located nearby to E.
