The National Monuments Service's description
Six enclosures (see KE090-014002-, KE090-014003-, KE090-014004-, KE090-014005-, KE090-014006-) were identified on an aerial photograph (GSI, V. 89/90) taken in 1973. The area was inspected in 2005 and found to be in rough grazing on boggy ground on both sides of the Small River. Mature forest of conifers are to the W, N and S. The landowner called the enclosures 'hagggarts' and remembers making cocks of 'fionnán' (a type of long whitish moorgrass) with his father at these locations. He also recalls seeing neighbours using similar type enclosures for fionnán cocks on both sides of the river. A fire-break runs along the W bank of the river where this enclosure is indicated on the aerial photograph. The enclosure is not visible and appears to have been removed when the fire break was made. According to the landowner, this is similar to the other enclosures that were identified in the area.
