The National Monuments Service's description
This site, no longer in use by the late nineteenth century, is situated in rough pasture and overlooks the Cummeragh river valley to S. Field boundaries enclose an approximately rectangular area, 30.6m x 12.5m, within which the area of burial is confined to a raised area, square in plan. This measures 10.5m in overall dimensions and varies from .15m to .7m high. There is a large number of upright slabs and boulders on its very uneven upper surface. A number of larger boulders occur along the edges of the raised area.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 995. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
