The National Monuments Service's description

This monument, which is indicated as ‘Gallaun’ on both editions of the OS maps, could not be located. It was sited on the lower NW facing slope of a ridge which spurs from Coomduff mountain. The area is now heavily afforested. Less than 100m upslope is the site of another standing stone (KE089-022----).

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 246. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
