The National Monuments Service's description

Kilmackerrin Burial Ground: Located on sloping ground on the SE spur of Beenduff, this site overlooks the Inny river valley and its estuary to SW. It is a 12.8m square platform, delineated by poorly preserved stony banks which rise 1.15m above external ground level at S and .5m on the upslope N side. The heavily overgrown interior contains up to 150 uninscribed grave-markers. A modern field boundary crosses the W side of the site.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1029. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
