The National Monuments Service's description
Approximately 300 uninscribed grave-markers occur within the enclosure. These are mainly located in its S sector, where there is a noticable clustering in the vicinity of the leacht, and they presumably date to the period of use of the site as a ceallúnach (KE088-015008-). The Delaps recorded that children were buried near the S boundary of the enclosure, while adults tended to be interred in the central area (KE088-015006-) of the site (1910, 188). One grave-marker, located in the interior of the house site at SW, bears a Latin cross and is inscribed 'In Memory of P. Egan’.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 922. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
