The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the W side of the Imlagh Basin, this stretch of an intra-peat earthen and stone trackway skirts a small rock-knoll and occurs about .5m below the bog surface. A sample of peat from directly beneath it yielded a radiocarbon determination of 2020±80 BP (Mitchell 1989, 64).

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 17. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
