The National Monuments Service's description
Some 5m N of the house site are the remains of a stone-built corndrying kiln. These were excavated in 1993 and a charcoal sample from a drain associated with the kiln (KE087-025001-) yielded a radiocarbon date of 934±110 AD (Hayden 1994, 41).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 707. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
