The National Monuments Service's description

A possible souterrain, situated on a terrace locally known as Knockaunnahona/Cnocán na hÓn, is recorded in the OSNB where it is described as a ‘cave ... now closed’ (Templeno, 3). The precise location of this site could not be determined. It is not marked on the OS maps.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 850. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
