The National Monuments Service's description
Marked sheepfold on the OS maps, this site and a sheepfold in the neighbouring townland (KE080-048----) are situated within a forestry plantation and could not be located. Prior to afforestation, Henry described the rubble foundations of several round enclosures and possible sheepfolds, and she recorded the remains of old field boundaries nearby (1957, 82).
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1445. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
