The National Monuments Service's description

No visible trace survives of the 'Gallaun' marked at this location on the first edition of the OS map. A field boundary now runs across this point, and the stone may have been removed during its construction. It was situated on sloping pastureland which overlooks extensive-tracts of bog to N, and was located approximately 100m ESE of a pair of standing stones (KE080-022----).

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 231. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
