The National Monuments Service's description

Possible promontory fort described in 2003 as follows; ‘Several lines of boggy earth seen from the air running across the headland correspond to a deep cleft crossing a narrow isthmus. The site has not yet been inspected at ground level. The area is one of mountainous highlands with a shallow covering of boggy land and outcropping rock' (Casey 2003, 32, no. I).

Casey, M. 2003 The coastal promontory forts of Ireland: interim report for the Heritage Council. Unpublished specialist report, National Monuments Service, Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
