The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the E slopes of Feaghmaan mountain, Valencia Island, and overlooking Valencia Harbour to E, this site consists of a subcircular area enclosed by a modern stone wall. The interior is heavily overgrown, making detailed inspection impossible. It has an estimated E-W diameter of 40m, and a number of upright slabs and quartz stones are visible in it. Sections of a poorly preserved wall, possibly the original enclosing element, can be identifed towards its E end. A holy well (KE079-058002-) is located a short distance to N.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1014. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
