The National Monuments Service's description

Located directly N of the Oghermong river in low-lying flat pasture that slopes gently to W, this site overlooks Valencia Harbour and affords extensive views in other directions. Roughly rectangular in elevation, this block-like standing stone of white quartz, which is noted as the Gallán Bán in the IFC Schools' Collection, now tilts slightly to NE. It is roughly square in plan at base, the sides measuring .7m x .95m x .8m .84m. A small squat boulder, set upright, abuts its N face. This boulder stands .65m high and measures .47m x .43m at base; NW-SE. Packing stones are visible around the bases of both stones.
Extending W from the base of the larger standing stone is a roughly rectangular stony area, measuring 11m x 6.5m. Large boulders, small stones and some uprights comprise this spread, which is delimited on its SE side by a low, curved, stone and earth bank. About 17m E of the standing stone is an L-shaped low bank, measuring 22.5m N-S and 23m E-W. Composed of stone and earth, the bank barely rises above the surrounding ground level and a scattering of boulders occurs along its length.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 202. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
