The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on the summit of The East Pap of Dana, with unbroken views in all directions. A well-preserved, roughly oval cairn (c. 15m E-W; c. 10.5m N-S; max. H c. 3.8m) composed of loose stones. The base of the cairn, which is largely intact, is constructed of stone slabs laid horizontally. The E portion of the cairn is damaged as are the upper levels, where stones have been removed to construct a modern cairn (diam. c. 2.3m; H c. 1.8m) on top of the original cairn. A walkway feature (Wth 0.5-1m; max. H 1.4m above the outer ground level) extends around inside the cairn NW-NE and SE-SW. Loose stones are scattered around the perimeter.
