The National Monuments Service's description
This monument was initially identified as rock art by Aoibheann Lambe in 2016. In mountain heath and blanket bog, on a NE-facing slope (176m OD), overlooking Behy River valley to NE and overlooked by mountains SE->W->NE. A smooth and fractured sandstone rock outcrop (dims. 1.00m NE-SW; 0.54m NW-SE; max. H 0.15m) with a linear decorated surface (dims. 0.44m NW-SE; 0.03m NE-SW) on W-side of rock, which has a slight SW-facing aspect. Rock art is very weathered and faint consisting of a linear row (long-axis NW-SE) (L 41cm NW-SE; Wth 1cm NE-SW; D 2mm) of pickmarks (diam. 4-5mm) which appears to start at the SE-end and continues under the peat to NW.
