The National Monuments Service's description

This enclosure is located high on the S slopes of Teermoyle mountain, on the N side of the upper reaches of the Ferta river. It commands an extensive outlook along the valley to Valencia Harbour at SW. The site is best preserved from E to SW and a modern field boundary partially overlies it at W. It is roughly pearshaped in outline and is defined by scarps at W and N. The interior of the site slopes markedly down to S and measures 12m N-S x 9.5m E-W. Its S edge is defined by a double row of orthostats though the majority of the slabs lining its outer face now lie prostrate. The slabs average .9m x .5m x .13m thick. A possible entrance feature, flanked by a pillar stone and orthostat set 1m apart, is located at SE.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 772. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
