The National Monuments Service's description
Located on a ridge of rough grazing land, on the N side of the valley between Been Hill and Teermoyle mountain, this well-preserved wedge-tomb commands an extensive outlook to SW along the valley of the Ferta river. The monument, modified for use as an animal shelter, consists of a wedge-shaped gallery, 3.7m in overall length, and is aligned ENE-WSW. It is 1.2m wide and 1.05m high at its W end, and decreases in width and height at E to 1.1m and .75m respectively. Two orthostats represent the N side of the gallery, while three occur on the S side; both sides decrease in height from W to E. The back-stone is set outside the lends of the gallery walls. Two large flat roof-stones complete the chamber (de Valera and Ó Nuallain 1982, 61). The 'cupmarks', noted by Lynch on the upper surface of the roof-stones (1906a, 280-1), are probably solution pits. The stone at W collapsed into the gallery in 1992.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 73. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
