The National Monuments Service's description

This potential feature was reported by Michael Connolly, County Archaeologist, Kerry County Council. It was identified by him during the course of an assessment of a 40 square mile area for the purpose of choosing a road route in 2000 to the north of Killarney. Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as one of seven extant fulacht fia. There is no visible surface trace of an extant fulacht fiadh at the location of the co-ordinates provided. The monument appears to be located in an unplanted forestry buffer zone adjacent to N. This has been cordoned off to W and N by a post and wire fence. The buffer zone is defined by forestry to W and N and by a field boundary to E and S. This unplanted area is ungrazed and has become obscured by dense ferns, briars and other vegetation. There is every possibility of a fulacht fia being within this vicinity but the area has been cordoned off, has become densely overgrown and pin-pointing a monument in this area would be very difficult.
