The National Monuments Service's description

In the 1940s a 'great eminence [see KE066-085001-]' underneath which was a 'whole series of souterrains, the entrances to which are now impossible to locate' was recorded in the second field to the rear of Mrs. McKay's house' (ITA). It was also mentioned that local people were able to enter and explore the souterrains 'as late as 40 years ago' (ibid.). These souterrains have not been precisely located.
