The National Monuments Service's description
On the E embankment of the Killarney-Tralee railway. A linear depression (L 1.85m; Wth 0.85m; D c. 0.7m; long axis N-S) leads down to a souterrain opening, surrounded by ferns. The opening is defined by a large lintel and a concentration of large loose stones. The souterrain, which is silted up, can be traced for at least 1.1m. According to a local correspondent writing in 1939, there was 'a hole in the top of the railway bank' and a 'passage' connected this souterrain to a souterrain (KE066-040001-) in the rath (KE066-040----), c. 100m to the NW on the opposite side of the railway (SMR file).
