The National Monuments Service's description

The OSNB records a 'fort' called 'Lissaghaun/Liosachán, located in an area called 'Cappagh Knocknaboola' (Ó Cíobháin 1978, 8). Not marked on the OS maps, the site has not been identified and Ó Cíobháin suggests that it may be the 'fort' recorded by the OSNB in Knocknaboola townland (KE056-055----).

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 646. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
